This painting exemplifies my concept of fetish finish. The sky is so glassy that though it’s black I like to think it is (or was when I completed it) a serviceable shaving mirror. Thank you. The ground, while also flat, is granular as sand. The chair, figure, and hands are thick and highly sculpted, having made this painting more time-consuming than it looks.
