There’s little buildup, and detail in only areas such as this one— I’m not yet to the point where I get in trouble with too much hairline work and sculptural effect. With even moderate energy I could still complete a piece in weeks instead of years. Coarse canvas panels helped keep me from getting too crazy— smooth hardboard would be my downfall.
