Must have been coincidence, but I painted from my imagination a porch that was in almost every detail identical to the front porch on the house I would buy several years later— the one I live in now— except reversed. When I conceived it I was trying to envision the porch of a house like the frame colonial saltbox in the 1966 UFO book Incident at Exeter.
