When this painting was first exhibited Venus was visible to the right of and slightly higher than the moon (shown on this detail only). Being just a bead of white on the panel, someone apparently thought it was a flyspeck and scratched if off. This was actually an unintentional favor as Venus never appears right next to a full moon. I left Venus off.
