While many forms of kinky play are edgy— potentially dangerous— the term edgeplay is generally reserved for the most dangerous of those, e.g. breathplay and gunplay. Even if the partners are informed, knowledgeable, and aware of the consequences, risks are still greater than other forms of realization and certainly the hazards of everyday life.
