MILD TO WILD
 
Some of us groom to make our parents proud,
    budding business executives.
Others set ourselves up to be disowned:
    purple hair, tattoos, and pierced tongues.

Many of us are between these extremes,
    closer to the latter,
trying mothers and fathers with tough love,
    challenging them to stay young.
