The man is facing away and looking through either a camera or binoculars. The woman is sitting on a partially-unrolled blanket, with room on the blanket for at least one other person. But who— the man? the child? someone not in the picture? I used different textural effects to differentiate the ground (lower level) from the levee (higher level).
