About the only thing more melancholy to see by the side of a road than a ruined drive-in theater is the remains of an amusement park. I remember seeing one as a kid out in a field as we drove by. The only thing left was a brittle coaster skeleton, more sun-baked than charred, appearing too fragile to have ever been real— remembered more as a dream.
