In the Indianapolis of my youth the big amusement park was Riverside. I remember its old midway— one booth gave each player a cushioned seat (complete with his own ashtray) where, at a quarter a game, he competed with the other players for a carnival prize, which included one entry into a drawing for a decrepit Buick, shined up to look like new.
