I wanted to depict the theme of the book Chariots of the Gods in reverse— a human astronaut has crash landed on a distant planet, and has been crucified as a god. The planet may be a moon of the huge gas giant in the background. The primitive memorial ring of crystals around the crashed pod suggests the level of development of the unseen aliens.
