I’m fascinated by the idea of a child, alone, encountering a UFO. I crammed nostalgia— abandoned service station, Rockwellian poise with traditional wagon, and a UFO that looks like it might have lifted off from a Victorian estate. The Texaco sign might have been inspired by one at an old service station in Lowertown here in Paducah.
