CRITIQUE

At the National Museum first glance,
the phantom ship swoops over me.
In Brooklyn during a second viewing,
giant waves crash round and about.

Twice in my lifetime I’ve had the pleasure
    of being storm-tossed by
the western-hemisphere’s greatest painting,
    Ryder’s The Flying Dutchman.
