SURETY

If you have money or Hollywood looks,
love is something that can’t be helped.
But if you’re poor and don’t turn any heads,
your greatest efforts won’t win it.

Desperate, you buy books you can’t afford
    to learn so-called techniques—
“It’s skill not superficialities,”
the myth you want to believe.
