SIMILAR OR OPPOSITE

Some say we attract those who are like us,
but strangeness has its own mystique.
Others see differences as their magnet,
    then empathy is often strained.

Since none of us are completely alike,
    nor differ entirely,
unless each can grow in the other’s soil,
two seeds will not a tree make.
