By this time in my career I’d achieved considerable success, yet my enthusiasm and work output began a slide from which I’m still (as I write this in early 2006) trying to recover. One fixable factor was the issue of reduced number of completed works because of the increasing amount of time put into each one. But there was a more fundamental problem.
