In the second of my Titanic series passengers are boarding the ship for its ill-fated maiden voyage. The two figures silhouetted in the gangway are a man and a women, symbolic of the many such couples separated in the disaster. The viewer himself is positioned to board, personalizing the tragedy, which is presaged by the stalactite-like rusticles.
