I’m still young enough that ruins, while evoking nostalgic empathy for the personages of old who knew, used, and cherished them before they lost their viability, generally offer little direct connection to my own past. One exception is abandoned drive-in theaters. This piece is my first return to that theme since my first painting, Nightscape.
