Deciding that fantasy artists’ depictions of UFOs looked too anthropomorphic— too much like the human view of what an alien vehicle should look like (e.g. a flying disk)— I tried to conceptualize something entirely unfamiliar, even to the extent of its not appearing solid. Odds are they’d have the technology to be entirely invisible anyway.
