My first castle was one of four rooms in the upstairs of an old house on Rose Street in Lexington, Kentucky, where I lived for about a year. For a time I attended college, then I looked for work, finally I ate grilled-cheese while watching The Olds of Lexington Theater on my 11” B&W Admiral under bare dangling bulb amidst puke-green pulpboard walls.
