Poets of the Western Rivers

POETS of the Western Rivers meets monthly every second Monday at 5:00 PM in the upstairs conference room (not the large meeting room) of the McCracken County Public Library. We welcome all local and regional writers, whether beginner or accomplished.

Attendance averages four to eight, which gives everyone a chance to share three or more of their poems during each hour-and-a-half-long meeting. We rotate around the table, each reading a poem in turn and receiving comments. If desired, participants can get constructive suggestions, including help with specific questions.

Members range in age from teen to senior and in accomplishment from aspiring to published. Writing styles range from traditional to contemporary, rhyming to non-rhyming, fixed-form to free-verse, and serious to humorous.

If you live in the Paducah, Kentucky area and write, aspire to write, or just enjoy poetry we invite you to attend one of our meetings, or for more information contact me via the link marked contact in the bottom margin of this page.
